Spatiotemporal Analysis of Rainfall and Droughts in a Semiarid Basin of Brazil: Land Use and Land Cover Dynamics

Precipitation estimation is a challenging task, especially in regions where its spatial distribution irregular and highly variable. This study evaluated the of annual rainfall semiarid Brazilian basin under different regimes impact on land use cover dynamics. Climate Hazards Group InfraRed with Stations (CHIRPS) records observed data from 40 weather stations over time series 55 years were used, addition to Standardized Index. Spatiotemporal analysis was carried out based geostatistics. Remote sensing images also interpreted for using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index Modified Water The Gaussian semivariogram model best represented structure, showing strong dependence. Results indicated that amount significantly increases elevation, as expected. There high variation dynamics water storage can threaten security region.
